How much protein do we need in our daily diet?

Answer:

I'm gonna start by saying that the guideline is 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight. Okay? Now, of course, there are variables depending on one specific, um, health condition and, and situation. Um, you know, generally, uh, you know, as one ages, you know, let's say 50 plus, or maybe even before that, um, a a a lot of folks will say, increase your protein. Um, if your physical activity level, uh, is at a particularly high rate, um, due to, you know, heavy work that you do, or to, uh, you know, athletics, you know, other physical activities, then folks will encourage you to increase your, your protein intake. Um, more specifically, however, this is really, I think, a conversation between you and your healthcare provider, and I would encourage you to sit down with that person, uh, to evaluate your specific situation and what might be best for you.
