Question:

How can I help my family to eat healthier meals when they want dishes with meat, refined grains, oil, and cheese? I want to start cooking healthier meals, but afraid they wont want to eat them.

— Marysa Ramirez

Answer:

Um, you know, one of the, one of the most difficult things for anyone to do is to make a pretty big change to their diet immediately. And, um, it leads to stress and frustration and, uh, other negative emotions. And, um, that's not what we want, right? Around food and, and cooking. We want to experience the joy, uh, of cooking and the joy, uh, of a beautiful meal. And, um, you know, it, it might take a while, right? But, uh, just start to, you know, introduce beautiful plant-based dishes. Maybe replace, uh, uh, an animal-based dish once in a while. Um, but it needs to taste good. And this is where you come in, okay? Excuse me. You know, you come to Rouxbe, we're gonna walk you through cooking methods and best practices, right? Uh, around these, um, food handling techniques will even give you a few recipes to practice with, okay? And then beyond that, it's gonna be up to you to practice, um, you know, developing and honing those skills as you deepen your knowledge around food and food handling, and all the while the quality of your cooking is going to improve. And, um, uh, also, you know, try to get your family members in the kitchen to, uh, help them prepare meals for you. There's, there's nothing like, uh, being invested, uh, personally invested in the outcome of a meal. And, um, you know, there, there's a lot to be learned. Um, I mean, after all, um, you know, not only do we wanna provide, uh, healthy meals for our families today, but we want to encourage them to continue to eat in this best way, uh, well into their own lives, you know, on whatever path that they might take through life. So, um, have patience and, um, you know, understand that a lot of times it's an experience of two steps forward and one step back. Um, you know, if you need a little encouragement, you can always write us here at support@Rouxbe.com and, uh, you know, we can talk about things, but, um, be patient and, um, uh, you know, uh, serve delicious food. And people cannot say no to that. All right. Thank you.
